You don't need a sprawling lawn or greenhouse garden to gain the benefits of plants. Aside from cleaning the air, indoor plants add colour, texture, and shape to any room. Our ideas show you why sometimes the best decor is green and leafy.

Think Outside the Planter
Don't settle for those plastic planters that your greens come home in, make a statement with an unexpected planter! Available in every material under the sun, choose a planter that speaks your style, from modern cement moulds to rustic wooden boxes. Other alternatives are terrariums, cloches, and pieces of vintage serveware. Perhaps a mismatched tea cup would be a great home for a mini succulent?

Fill Empty Space
When furniture doesn't fit in a small or oddly shaped nook, fill the space with a plant to completely transform the look. If a large plant or tree is too bulky, use a plant stand to add height to frame the important stuff without dominating floor space.
Faux Real
If all else fails, and you don't have green thumbs, try faux plants or florals. From topiaries to succulents and colourful blooms to mature trees, fake plants look fresh all year round. Make sure to choose a planter or vase that complements the shape and size of the faux plant, and add rocks, moss, or even soil to create more of a natural touch.

Branch Out
You don't need lots of shelf or floor space to start an indoor garden. Hanging planters become a statement piece on their own. Think of these floating air purifiers as another chic way to add texture and height to a room. If you want a more permanent option, a wall-mounted planter is also a great use of wasted space and can easily be incorporated into wall art and decor.

Garden Fresh
Always have low-maintenance herbs on hand in the kitchen for easy cooking. A sunny windowsill is all you need for a mini herb garden in the kitchen or dining room. We recommend a combination of basil, parsley, thyme, and oregano potted in their own containers. Of course, take into account the herbs that you will use in recipes and family meals.
