Spring Porch Decorating Ideas
Bring colour and life to your front porch this spring.

The front door is always the focal point of the home, so it should be well maintained. After the winter months, a good cleanup is in order. We scrubbed everything and pressure washed the concrete floor. This set the canvas for the décor.
I placed some pink berry branches in an antique wall basket and hung it on the screen door. Next, I placed a colourful rug over the concrete for a pop of colour that leads the eye to the door. Turquoise painted shutters flank the entryway and provide a tropical flair. Wooden crates hold flowers, an aqua olive jug, and a lantern. Other decorative items were sprinkled about for charm and a smile.

My son gave me this rooster print (below) for Christmas last year. I've collected roosters since I found my first one in France when I was 16. After a drab, foggy winter, I'm more than ready to spice things up a bit for spring. The colours in this spring inspired my front porch décor. Come along and see how I pulled it all together.
I wanted my porch to say, "Welcome. Come sit a spell and have some spiced tea with me!" I placed the print on my yellow bistro table with French blue chairs and then filled the rest of the porch with spicy, tropical, and a tad rustic décor.

It's all about vignettes for me. I enjoy the freedom they give me to create with things I love. And there are many things I love. The wicker chairs were washed and placed on the left side of the porch. I love to sit here and read to the little ones.
The bistro table resides on the right side of the porch. We have morning warm tea and afternoon iced tea with all kinds of neighbours in the Spring. I draped a tropical beach wrap over one of the chairs. A rooster statue stands guard at the foot of the table. In the yard you get a glimpse of my garden statue.

Pansies and hydrangeas are my favourite flowers. How can you look at them and not smile?
I love bringing the inside out. A colourful rooster pillow looks just right resting on the yellow chair. Do you bring your indoor items outside?
