My home office has been a work in progress for many years, as I lovingly acquired all of the found items. I also DIYed a lot of the elements, from the deer trophy above the desk to the table lamp.
As you can tell, my desk is actually a dining room table. I LOVE using a dining room table as a desk because it gives me a much larger space to work on. No, I don't have drawers or storage, but I wouldn't buy a desk with storage anyways—too bulky. I like the look of an airy desk with open space underneath. So in my case, a rustic wooden dining table fits the bill perfectly! Plus it adds lots of personality to the space.
I combined new and old pieces to make the home office feel more like "home" and less like "office." Also, mixing traditional patterns—the rug, curtains, and pillows are all different—lends a sense of fun. Sophisticated neutrals plus rustic and industrial pieces give the space a tailored yet eclectic feel.
I hope you enjoy shopping my room! Have fun!
