It's a really neat game that gets me involved in the game to, helping figure out and build. My daughter and I both had fun!

For openness: I was provided a set of Learning Resources Mental Blox 360 3-D Building Game to review. The opinions are mine and my sons'. Okay, have you ever played tangrams? Well, these are like 3D tangrams. The challenge cards show you, on the front, which blocks to use, what the final image should be, and from what angle you should see said image. Then, you build it! There are varying difficulties of challenge cards. (It sounds more confusing than it really is.) From the moment we popped the box open, the boys jumped in and started building. In fact, I had to let them build things with the blocks first, before we even got to the instructions. While it was frustrating for me, it was actually a good thing. While they were building their things, they were actually exploring how the blocks all fit together in different ways. So, when we finally got to the challenge cards, they hammered out the first few without even a moment's hesitation. When opened the box, I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to get all of the pieces to fit back into the box perfectly again. My fears were allayed, when I discovered that they had a template printed on the bottom of the box to show you where each piece goes! This way you can quickly discover if you have a piece missing. The boys played the challenge cards for awhile, but they also just like stacking the blocks up to make different shapes. Also, my oldest son (1st grade) brought his homework home the other night, and it was a page of drawings that looked just like the pieces from the game. So, he was able to try to match the drawings on the page with the pieces in real life and see it as an object rather than just the line drawing. Quite a handy homework helper! Pros: The pieces are super easy to stack. The game is interactive. We use it for family time. It encourages creative game play. Cons: One of the pieces had to be glued back together after a fall. Kids wanted MORE BLOCKS! :D Highly recommend this to Pre-K and up.

My kids (10, 7, 3) had a good time playing with Mental Blox. While my 3 year old just would build whatever he wanted, my older two took the provided cards to be challenged with the set designs. I like how the cards range from very easy to increasingly harder. I love that this activity required my children to stretch their brains and perspective. Though the game did ultimately make my 7 year old cry out of frustration, with some help and explaining from Dad he was able to calm down and enjoy the blox again. Overall I'm happy with this educational game. *Game was provided for review purposes. All opinions are my own.

We received this product for free in exchange with my honest review. I was so surprise how my children react to this toy after we tried it out. To start with, My children already have wooden blocks toy and they didn't do much with it. I was curious about this toy and wonder what make it different from the others so I checked out the product information on the website. I noticed that this toy comes with puzzle cards. So we gave it a try. When we received it, both of my children were quite excited. There are light weight and very colorful blocks inside. There are 40 cards feature the puzzle on the front and the solution on the back. My daughter was very curious about the cards. So we took them out and see how to play using these cards. The cards can be divided into 3 colours which means there are 3 levels. The green ones are the easiest. Surprisingly, My daughter had a lot of fun! She just kept playing with it, cards after cards. Even myself, I found I had a lot of fun, trying to solve each card with her. It is very interesting. I think the price is not too bad. Plus this toy encourage my daughter to problem solves and being quite creative. The box also have an outline to put blocks back where they belong which made my daughter enjoy putting them away without complaining as well.
