The unit is relatively easy to assemble once you've managed to decipher the images in the instructions (the text is in Chinese). It just takes time and patience. All the hardware needed for assembly was supplied, although I'd recommend using a drill with a star-tip bit instead of the tool provided to make screwing certain parts easier. The pieces fit well together and everything is aligned. Once filled, the cabinet is heavy enough to prevent it from tipping over, but the composite panels are very thin (about 5mm). This means that nothing very heavy can be placed on top. The “rattan” is actually plastic, but still looks good from a distance. The color is pretty, but the bamboo parts had dried out a bit and I had to oil them with lemon oil to restore their shine. Contrary to the advert, the unit can hold 18 pairs of shoes (size 8 in my case) and NOT 20. See photo supplied. In terms of depth, I believe the unit can easily accommodate women's size 9 shoes, maybe even 10. As noted in other comments, the shelves are NOT adjustable, but you have the option of omitting a few if you want more height for boots, for example. All in all, it's a practical piece of furniture and prettier than what you might find elsewhere, but I think it would've looked better with legs and been more practical with an additional shelf. I wish I was able to find something second hand but alas, I was impatient. Hope this review helps! :)

I can’t say there’s anything that I like about this cabinet. I started putting it together last night, and the only thing left to put on were the doors. I stopped there, because I already knew this would be sent back. First of all, as stated in the listing, it is very light. You could almost lift it with one hand, some people actually could. All pieces of the cabinet are very thin, even the frame. It took me about an hour and a half to get as far as I did with building it. It should have been at least 30 minutes less, but the instructions are not very detailed, and I kept making mistakes. I have built many pieces of furniture over the past 25-30 years, so I am definitely no rookie. The cabinet is wobbly. It doesn’t sit level, and due to its poor quality, it’s quite unsteady. Tightening the screws to try and offset that gives an audible crack in the material. The shelves are placed close together, which might be fine for low profile snakers or flats. My intention was to use this for dress shoes. Not one pair of mine fit. Not the cabinet’s fault as the measurements are listed, I just didn’t pay close enough attention. It is cute and does the job. Was not terrible to assemble and was an economical solution. It really does hold 20 pairs (maybe more for smaller shoes). I like it!

Doesn't fit size 10 men, shoes, sneakers or boots. Resolved by excluding finished back panels. Better than plastic.
