Solidly built box, spacious, great for large deck cushions. It is absolutely the right product for what I needed it for. It is not inexpensive so I expected a well finished product. I did have 3 issues...the first was despite the wording on the outer packaging the outer boxing was noted to be substantially damaged on arrival. Fortunately it was sturdy enough to not do damage to its contents. It was quite well packed. Secondly, the instructions are terrible. There are no words, just pictures and in some cases they are not correct. You can figure them out but given the cost of this piece, I would have expected something better. The larger, long term issue is fit....the last part to be assembled, the lid, did not align properly with the rest of the box....causing an overlap on one end and an underlap on the other of about 3/4 of an inch. All other joints are aligned.....so it is a design issue with an angle being off on a part. After unboxing and assembling 90% of this you are not about to take it apart and return it....but it is annoying to have an asymmetrical lid.

The deck box came securely shipped in its own wooden box. There was no damage to the shipping container and the deck box itself was in great condition. Assembly was a challenge. The instructions are minimal, a single page with no text. It says to buy Gorilla Glue which is not included but there is glue included. It says to glue the joints together before final assembly - I chose not to do this as I was afraid I would do it wrong and be unable to fix it after. Seems very turdy without the glue by the way. I was able to assemble the four sides and the bottom by myself. Adding the bottom was tricky. There are 10 bolts that are used to attach it - 3 of them did not align with the pre-drilled holes. Again, seems plenty sturdy with just seven bolts. You will need another pair of hands to help attach the top to the hinges. The deck box looks great in the end! I dropped a star for the assembly. I would strongly suggest that if you are willing to spend $2,000 for the box, you pony up for the extra $200 for the professional assembly!
