I had a terrible experience putting this together. The parts were not labeled, and the instructions were cryptic. There are extra holes drilled in various pieces that seem to be an error, and this made building it very confusing. No one else has mentioned these issues in their reviews, so perhaps I’m an outlier. I bought this in part because it’s collapsible, but it’s so awkward that I don’t think I’ll be collapsing it anytime soon. Plus, the wood is roughly finished and readily puts out splinters. I wouldn’t buy this again.

I always read a selection of good and bad reviews before I buy a product, and if many of them have the same complaint, I take it as a red flag, but since I'm a competent DIYer I don't get put off by negative reviews based solely on the difficulty of assembly. That said, my only problem with this clothes rack is the nearly incomprehensible assembly instructions. Not only are they confusing, but the pictures and writing are tiny! Eventually, I went online and found the instructions in a format I could enlarge, and that helped, but I was only able to succeed because I read a review that said to forget trying to follow the written steps and just figure it out by looking at the pictures of the assembled rack. While the pictures helped me to decipher the poorly written instructions, I could not completely ignore them because the order of the steps was important. Another roadblock was that some of the pieces had extra holes that served no purpose other than to confound. When I finally figured it out and was putting in the final screws, I discovered that two of the crossbars had cracked and the screws wouldn't hold. This actually made me want to write a more positive review because the Wayfair customer service was excellent and they replaced the broken parts immediately. So my 3 star review is a combination of 1 star for assembly and 5 stars for the service and the finished product.

This is not strong enough to be a clothes rack. The rack is super flimsy. The top rod looks like it’s giving in the middle with just a few items on it.
