Cadre flexible Edmunds

Loved this frame. I researched a lot of them and I thought this one would be the best. Unfortunately it was too small for my project and I am returning it. I gave it 5 stars anyway because it is really a neat design.

This is a clever idea, EXCEPT... 1.The full width of the frame is 18" but with the assembly the absolute maximum width of the canvas can be 14.5". It should say that in the description and in the instructions. 2. There are no usage instructions included and there should be. In order to get the canvas to stay taunt on the frame it must be wrapped at least 1.5 times around the dowel. I did not have that leeway on either top or bottom of my canvas so I had to attach a sleeve from some extra fabric. 3. I trimmed the sides of my canvas, added the sleeves for the dowels and finished assembling. Third problem is that the side "legs" stay attached on the one side but are very loose and keep falling off on the other side where the dowel has been tightened to keep the canvas rolled and taunt. I don't understand how this could not have happened in their testing the initial product and if there is a solution they should include that in "how to use" instructions - of which none exist. Other than those three rather major issues it is nicley made, sturdy and easy to needlepoint using.
