Heavy-duty is a stretch here. This unit is flimsy. I ordered it hoping it would hold some of the equipment in my garage but after building it I wasn't confident it would actually hold any weight. Some of the prongs from the grates that make up the shelves already broke apart without even having put anything on it. The majoirty of the pieces are bowed or the fittings loose. The whole unit is very lightweight. I ended up putting things like an empty air conditioner box and lighter containers on it.

Assembly was frustrating. The instructions jumped around, the included tools were useless, and two pieces broke during assembly, leaving us with only 4 shelves instead of the advertised 5. The metal is flimsy with sharp edges that can easily cut you, and wheeled totes fall through the shelf gaps. Overall, the quality was disappointing and I wouldnt recommend this shelving unit.

Fairly easy to install, although the cross bars don't like to stay connected even after you've whacked them with a rubber mallet (they provide a very small mallet which I didn't find was helpful). The main supports feel sturdy; the main cross beams feel sturdy; the small shelf cross supports have small metal tabs that slide into the longer bars and bend into place. I could hand bend these, they do not feel like they are very sturdy. The wire racks are lightweight and I wouldn't trust this rack with heavy weights on each shelf. All my totes and items are pretty light - this isn't a heavy duty garage/storage shed shelving unit I would say. I works, I can definitely use it, but don't buy it as a heavy duty unit. Buy it for more light weight storage. Also the grommets used to lock the piece that attaches top to bottom are simply plastic you hand push into place.
