I prefer birch due to its great ability to drain and these are a good quality and price compared to big box stores.

The butcher block is the perfect size for my non-traditional use it’s the top for a laundry folding table - with added 40 inches high legs. It’s the perfect height for standing and working with my ever-present laundry. It’s sturdy and well sanded, I just added the polyurethane.
