Our city codes granted permission for homeowners to use retractable clothesline’s last year. We installed this Jewell product from Austria in the lower level of our backyard amidst an extensive flower and vegetable garden landscape. At first we tried the fast installation by screwing the big yellow anchor directly into the ground. This proved unstable so we bought a bag of Quick Crete concrete mix and dug a larger hole. After letting the concrete set up and dry for 24 hours the Novaplus is securely and permanently in place. Here in Colorado we have over 300 days of sunshine but we get crazy severe weather year round and wind nearly everyday. So far the clothes umbrella is working perfectly. I might bring the detachable umbrella indoors to store over the harshest winter months. Most importantly it can hold and dry 3-4 loads of laundry at once. So fun spinning it around to hang wet laundry and again to take down dry sweet smelling fresh sunshine and mountain breeze dried bedding, towels and family clothes. When finished the Novella easily retracts and the slide down metallic silver colored sleeve protects all the working parts. We added pea gravel around our new laundry station and our raised bed vegetable gardens. This turned out to be a practical way to keep these areas neat and clear of dirt and debris. No grass stains or mud ...stray laundry stays clean.

I cant wait to use this umbrella clothesline after my husband installs it. I like the smell of fresh linens outside. Plus it saves me on electric. I like it has a place for me to hang clothes on hangers that I dont want to shrink in the dryer. I'm impressed with the quality of this unit as I read the reviews before choosing this one over a cheaper model. I like it comes with a cover to protect it also.
