The box is a light grey with black lines. It doesn't look white at all.

I love this box! I have been trying to find something decorative to hide my makeup carousel. Everything I saw was too large and took up too much room on my vanity table. This was the perfect fit. I wasn't crazy about the rope-like handles (to "country" for my decor, but it was easy to reply them with ribbons. A great buy!
