This worked out really well for me. I got two sets. I was able to put it across the back of my wall, and have enough parts left over to extend it into an unused area next to my window. It's sort of an L shape. This is a great solution for a room where you are not comfortable finding the studs and hanging rods from the walls, or you can't damage the walls. I feel that it's very sturdy. Also, I have a ton of heavy clothes, and it feels like it's supporting them just fine. If you use standard white plastic hangers, the racks should be wide enough that you can place them against the wall without the hangers touching the wall. If your hangers are a little bit wider, like some of the slim fit hangers, you can put the hanging bar a little further away from the wall, rather than in the middle, and it's still very sturdy and does not affect the balance. I like that you can figure it however you'd like. I am pretty tall, so I preferred not to have double rows of clothing. About installation, what I found worked best was: - place all the poles and shelves where you would like them to go before you start putting it together _ assemble the support poles to the height - put the poles through the stack of shelves, don't worry about the shelves being the right height yet. - move the shelves to the right height and use the white support clips to hold them in place - then add the clothing rods
