Unfinished Birch Solid Wood Butcher Block Countertop for DIY Kitchen Countertop, Desk Top, Workbench 25" Width

I got the 6'x 25" piece. If you order one of these, you need to know up front it is VERY HEAVY. You will probably need a hand truck and at least two people to maneuver it. When I first got it, I wondered which side is the top and which is the bottom. I soon figured it out. On mine, the top has only 2-3 small knots. The bottom has more knots and larger. Also, there are several places on the bottom where glue is on the surface, so it becomes very obvious when you apply stain or a finish. Finally, you need to be aware that you need to apply oil, polyurethane, or some other type finish within 48 hrs. to prevent splitting or warping. Finally, the board looks nice when finished.

So far very impressed by the quality of this for the price. One side has a few knots but there is a top face that is very clear and appears true with no splits.

I wasn’t expecting so many dings, fillings, and sanding drag marks. There is at least one spot that looks like it could split. Would have been nice if the price reflected the quality better. That said, it’s okay and may be better than a box store buy.

I have not installed it on my base cabinet, but the product seems to be very sturdy and well-made.

Beautiful piece of butcher block! We ended up with a different configuration, so returned it because we needed a small sizer.
