The innovative "J" hooks are specially designed with a flexible tab to ensure your rods remain securely in place. The top and bottom tracks have removable end caps so other 3 in 1 aluminum rod racks can be added to expand rod storage capacity from 10 to 20 or even 30. If you like to store your rods alternating tips and handles for maximum capacity, remove the end caps then slide out the J clips and the rod handle holders then reset them tip to handle.

The clamps do not quite open up wide enough to fit the front-to-back rails that come on my 2014 Jeep Cherokee Limited, I managed to get them on by removing them from the rails and putting them on at an angle first before popping them into their proper position, after that it was a bit tough to slide the rails onto both of the clamps but I got it done in the end and happy with my purchase!. So far, am discouraged. My joists in my garage ceiling are on 24" center and the product doesn't seem to allow only 2 lag connections as their 'bar' is 38". I texted/chatted the question of using 2 lags vs the 3 recommended. I do not want to attach the bar on a single joist as i want to hang the bikes in the other direction - across the joists.
