First. I am glad that I read the reviews especially the negative ones so I could see for myself if the problems are systemic for this product. Overall, I am very satisfied with this product, and it looks great.
The product was well packed and there was no damage from shipping, but the package was long and bulky causing the delivery personnel to struggle getting it off the truck.
There were only 2 screw holes (in the horizontal supports) that didn’t match up where the H1 bolt would not fit. Fortunately, the 2 places didn’t affect the integrity of the product.
Two of the slats on the horizontal bars were welded slightly off (1/8”) making it impossible to use the longer H1 screws. I overcame this by using the spare shorter screws that are used to install upper panels.
The use of plastic screws on the top ceiling metal sheets (top of the gazebo) are a waste of time and hold the panels in very well.
Constructions tips: It does take four people to get the frame standing and installed. It only takes about 5 minutes to erect the post and insert them into place. So, get your neighbors to help for this major step. It also takes 2 people to set the top copula onto the frame. The rest of the construction can be done by yourself.
One complaint I read was that the holes of the metal roof didn’t properly align up with the frame. Since I was aware of this, I didn’t tighten all the screws until all panels were installed. There is enough wiggle room to make the necessary adjustments to get all the screws into the holes.
The same issue applies to the rafters when installing the support cross beams. Losen the brackets up so that the cross beams can be inserted into place. Be careful about cross threading the H1 bolts into the frame. I messed up on 1 and it’s not repairable. Use your fingers to start the bolt before using the 10mm tools to lock into place.
It took me two 10-hour days to unpack, build, make minor adjustment, and clean up to complete this project. I also had a great time building this project since the finished product does look very impressive.
I am happy with the product and would purchase again. In fact, I just purchased another 11x13 hardtop gazebo.
