We bought the 12 inch mattress for our guest bedroom and it fluffed out to fill size in less than 24 hours. It is very firm but the memory foam gives it some cushion. Nice mattress especially for the price!

Love the mattress for my guest room it is 10 inches. Took about 24 hours to expand. I took a picture below to show the thickness. This is a full size mattress. It is a firm mattress but does contour to your body easily.
