Modern & Contemporary Analogue Alder Solid Wood Tabletop Clock in Old World Walnut

For $151 you get a clock that looks and sounds good from afar. However, if you take a closer look you will find that the face of the clock is plastic and the "wood" is really pressed cardboard hiding beneath a thinly veiled veneer. $151 doesn't get you much these days but from a distance the clock looks "nice" next to "The Duke" on my mantle. I would never say plastic and pressed cardboard looks "gorgeous" as some of the reviewers have testified to and I would never get this clock wet while cleaning because it would get damaged. If you want a "real" wood clock with a metal face look elsewhere. Also, I found it difficult to make out the time from 10 feet away due to the numbers are gold. The clock at least keeps excellent time and the chimes sound wonderful. I also purchased a Howard Miller clock that has the look I want but it doesn't sound as good as this one. I now have this clock downstairs in the bar.

I own two vintage mechanical ‘chimers.’ I enjoy them but wanted to purchase a ‘chimer’ that doesn’t need winding or maintenance. This clock fits the bill. The chimes sound like real chimes, not the awful sound that some quartz clocks have it looks good. The only thing it doesn’t have is the “tick-tock” of a wind up. I’d recommend this nice clock. I love this mantel clock! The picture on the website is beautiful but in person it is GORGEOUS! The chimes sound like they are coming from a big grandfather clock. It's one of the purchases I will never have buyers remorse with this clock!

Beautiful clock! Just the right size for our mantel. The chimes are adjustable or can me turned off. The clock was well packaged and delivery was faster than expected.
