I purchased this knife set about a year ago and all knives cut as they did when they were brand new. I’m the regular “at home chef” that appreciates fine kitchen tools and I must say that these knives actually make cooking more fun. The edges were all very patient with me as I became acquainted with each knife and thankfully the honing steel provided works very well. I always ensure that the knives are clean and dried after EVERY use. If you’re looking to purchase a nice set and are hesitant because of the price; splurge, these are worth it. The only problem is that I don’t NEED any of the other beautiful knives that Shun makes; but I’ll buy them anyway. Cheers and Happy Cooking

My favorite knife to use quite honestly. Love the way it feels in my hand.

Although I 0riginally purchased this knife for my nephew's wedding, when I had the knife in hand I promptly bought one for my brother. He says he uses okiri exclusively to cut ALL the vegetables in his house. He has a rather complete set of knives so I feel he's using what he feels is the best knife for the job. Listening to him talk about the tells me he REALLY likes that knives.
