This set is very deceiving as it says it is for K and up. That makes people think it is just for primary aged students. However, I recently went to a conference where adults were using it and it was complicated. You can make this work for any age by adding more complex tasks. It is a great kinethetic intro to coding.

This is a great tool to teach kids easy coding and how to follow directions. The pieces are durable and bright colored. It is also a great game to teach team building and how to work together.

When I received this item, I was really excited! My kids (9, 7, and 5) really love coding programs on the computer, so I thought they would really enjoy playing this game. The maze pieces are a bright and durable foam, which will be able to withstand daily use. The direction, robot, and extra challenge pieces are heavy duty cardboard, also sturdy. We haven't yet used any of the "special" coding challenge pieces; at this point, we are using basic directions and numbers of paces to get through the simple mazes. The kids are taking turns building/designing the maze (kid 1); decoding the maze (kid 2); and following kid 2's directions to the end of the maze (kid 3). It took a little coaxing on my part to get them started (maybe because they are already used to playing coding game on the computer), but now they're having fun directing each other and trying to find any mistakes that may have been made during the coding process. I think my favorite part watching my kids play was when my 5 year old tried making the code more difficult for the bigger kids! After they are all comfortable using the basic coding features, we will start adding in the extra challenges. There are several different suggestions within the instructions as to how to play, and over time we will likely try other versions. This is a game that can be played over and over for a long time, increasing the difficulty and changing the goals as the kids get more comfortable with the concept of coding. Also, kids often learn and retain information and concepts if they get to move and play while doing so; this activity set is perfect for allowing them to move and learn coding concepts simultaneously. Additionally, coding has become part of school curricula in many places, and in others an extra-curricular activity, and is also becoming more important as a life skill; so familiarizing kids with the concepts early will only help them in the future. I received this as part of an incentivized review program.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product as part of an incentivized toy review program. I intended to use it with my 6 year old daughter, but I will say that it was a little too simple for her. (With a husband with a career in computer science, we had already introduced her to the basics of coding.) This game is actually perfect for my 4 year old son, and we have been playing it with him. I would highly recommend it for anyone just starting to introduce coding to their kids. It's a great visual to the concepts, and the kids like moving through the mazes they create. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars because for the intended age of 5-7, I wish they included important coding functions such as the "loop", or the "if...then..." for a more advanced way of playing.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I choose this activity as part of an incentive review program and thought it would be a fun and easy way to teach my 4yo, going on 5yo, how to code and it was definitely a challenge for me to explain it to her. We did the sample mazes from the directions and it was fun once she understood what each symbol meant. I would think an older kid would be better suited.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a teacher who teaches both art and STEM. I received this game as part of a incentivised review program. I think that the game is great for elementary students in grades K- in learning how to code. I had my niece(1st grade) and nephew(preK/K) try out the game and they had fun instructing eachother on how to get to the robot. My sister home schools her kids so she loved this game as a way to have her kids get familiar with how to code. The game looks just like the package it comes in. The cards are durable enough and are clean and bright in color, making the game more interesting for kids. The fact that kids get to move around while playing is also a huge plus! I found that both my niece and nephew were interested in playing the game so it is not gender specific.

I was given this set as part of an incentivized review program. I wasn't sure if my preschool students would be able to do this but they sure surprised me. Coding is the newest thing to be taught in schools and this set makes it easy to introduce to very young students. The directions and the mats and cards are easy to understand and they were able to complete it several times following different paths with only a few tiles to begin with. They really enjoyed the activity and ask for it repeatedly. Everything is well made and withstands the use by a class of preschoolers. I would recommend this to everyone. It is both a game and a learning activity that my students thoroughly enjoyed.
