I bought this desk for a very specific purpose. I wanted to replace a large mahogany desk in my den with a smaller light duty desk that would be used sporadically for "office" work. Only Wayfair bubbled up when I searched for a desk that would be about 48" wide and about 18" deep. at 16" this one is a bit skinny as a work surface with computer, monitor etc. but it fits the space I need to squeeze myself into, and I appreciate that Wayfair offered a solution. This is a lovely piece of furniture. The wood is beautiful and tranquil. My desk is currently in the living room, and I wanted a piece that would work there. The construction is solid. Surface is big enough to have a lot of my project piles, and still room to work. keyboard drawer works fine. This metal wood industrial desk unfortunately had 2 broken pieces as we opened the box. Really love this desk. Pros asthetic, shelving is very convenient, plugs on desk top keep everything organized, and the wireless charging is amazing. The shelving up top is great for decor. Cons base is not secured on one leg since the bar was warped will not align with the holes under the desk, same issue with the white board. Although i may leave the whiteboard off since my monitor is wide. Hoping replacement parts will fix these issues because i love the desk. One thing to note, chairs with an arm may get tricky. This is a beautifully designed and engineered desk. It has a wood finish that is like satin to the touch. The drawers are unbelievably spacious, and the desk top seems to visually levitate in space because of the subtle, simple black metal frame. My only problem (I imagine 90% of buyers will encounter this) is that the back stretcher/support is set at exactly the same height off the floor as the standard electrical wall outlet. Very awkward! Also, the wood color is more golden/yellow than I was looking for, but hey...that's online shopping for you.
