I was giving up hope as it has been 2 days trying to set it up. Adding code would get red light. Factory reset would get red light. This went on and on. I looked up troubleshooting no luck. I took everything apart and installed it again - no luck. Pressing the lock button alone would lock and unlock. Had to remove batteries last night so no one could get in and go manual. So much for the smartcode. Wanted to call support but it was the US holiday so only available tomorrow. So I said one more try then I will call it quits and call support on Tuesday. Well, finally the factory reset went green. The adding a code went green. Then tested and the code would unlock and any other code (or just the lock button) would not unlock. Success for now. Not holding my breath it will last (or when the batteries need to be replaced). This is my second Weiser smartcode lock i I stalled. The first was a lock and lever and that installed without a hitch and fairly quickly. I must have gotten a lemon that finally worked.

Smart lock works fine as a basic deadbolt. The action is smooth and installation was about the same as any other deadbolt. The smart re-keying is finicky and wouldn't work with the first key that I tried. Eventually just gave up since we use the code 100% of the time anyways. Nice that you can add multiple codes, but there is not much for features beyond that. The autolock is incredibly annoying, it continues trying to lock the door over and over even when it is already locked - that is the main reason for giving it 3 stars, had to finally disable that since it made the feature unusable. So basically this functions fine if you only want to use it as a basic deadbolt with code entry and no extra features.

Great product. Easy to install and even easier to add the necessary Smarthome technology.
