This was my first time ordering from Wayfair I ordered three items, and this is second item I received and assembled. When assembling this item, the front had a screw in stud that was attached to wood “bar”, however, there was a groove in the front, back and two sides to hold the “bottom” of the chest in place. Because the groove was so close to where the stud was screwed in, the particle board aka: wood, crumbled away, I had to use a new wood screw and wood glue to fix it. The trunk is a beautiful piece of sturdy solid wood. I purchased it because it has the black metal legs and front handle that complements my current industrial bedroom furniture. Only four stars because it arrived damaged in two places. One at the left hinge attachment to the wood trunk, the other is a split in the wood on the right side of the trunk where the leg attaches. We were able to nail the wooden block into place to attach the metal leg securely and hopefully prevent further splintering. The quality control needs to be in place for both the preparation of the furniture for shipment AND ensuring the shipper HANDLES THE FURNITURE WITH CARE DURING SHIPMENT. When it comes to our bedrooms, storage space seems to always come at a premium, especially when talking about our clothing. Don’t worry, this storage trunk is here to help. Crafted from solid wood, it features an unfinished look (meant to be finished by the consumer). Its lift-top design opens to reveal ample storage space, while also doubling as a seat that can support up to 500 lbs. after assembly.

I was looking for something to hold blankets and pillows and this fits the bill! There were a few issues putting it together, mostly attaching the soft close hinges- they didn’t want to match up with the pre drilled holes and it took some force to make sure they were even close. Also the board for the bottom is very thin but with the 2 braces it doesn’t seem to be a problem. It is holding various sizes of blankets and pillows for my kids to grab when needed. BEWARE! it specifically says it is solid wood in the description (Material: Solid Wood). I suppose pressboard is a form of wood. I paid a little more for this specifically because it is listed as solid wood. I would return this but it is too much of a hassle. Honestly 2 stars is being generous.
