I was concerned about whether the birds would accept this based on the reviews but there are dozen of the flitting around it as I write this. I did deduct a star because the metal is a much thinner gauge than my previous brand name one (which needed replacing because a bear destroyed it- never had bears here before). The old one had already survived having a small tree fall on it. This one would not withstand that. The lid already had a dent when it arrived and I could easily bend the metal with my bare hands. The finish is a sprayed on paint, not a more durable powder coated finish so it will likely rust pretty quickly. I didnt want the hassle of a return so I kept it. Basic construction solid. Screened bottom a good idea. Whole feeder heavier than it needs to be. Ribbing instead of a solid roof would help. Don't know if, when full, it may bend our shepherd's crook pole. Door to suet holder too difficult to open, especially with gloves on and holding the feeder steady with the other in winter.
