Don't be intimidated by a big blank wall, decorate it with an easy and budget-friendly piece of art!

If you're anything like me, you may have fabric from various completed projects stored away, with no idea what to do with them. I recently moved to a new apartment where I finally have a designated workspace, which means I have the opportunity to create an inspirational and feminine desk area. With all of my large framed art already hung throughout the house, the wall over my desk was looking very blank, so it was time to get creative!

One of my current obsessions is anything spotted, so when I realized I had a large amount of black and white spotted fabric left over from upholstering some old dining chairs I knew exactly what I would do. Frame it!

You can find simple and inexpensive frames at all sorts of stores, so if you have a large blank wall make sure you select a frame sizable enough to make an impact. I used a large frame I had laying around, cut the fabric down to size to fit inside the frame, ironed it, and simply placed the fabric in the frame, and the back of the frame over the fabric. If your fabric isn't cooperating and won't lay flat, use tape to pull it taut. Just make sure the tape isn't visible through the glass.

I love a budget-friendly project that makes a huge impact, and this one definitely checks both of those blocks. Large pieces of art often cost hundreds of dollars, but this piece only cost the price of the frame. Best of all, it's also a great way to get a little extra use out of some fun and beloved fabric!
