Product is great, does exactly as mentioned in the AD, however instillation is a bit hard takes way longer than you expect to install.

Template for ceiling is substandard

Good product quite straight forward to install especially if you know where and which way the joistsstuds run. I highly recommend having the bit attachments to raise and lower it with a drill it take a while by hand.

Sturdy products, holding our items safely in our garage. Happy to have the floor space back.

I bought this Overhead Garage Lifting Storage Rack to provide extra storage in my garage for my Christmas decorations so that I no longer had to climb a ladder and lift heavy boxes into the rafters. The unit came quickly after I ordered it. Below are my thoughts in a PROS and CONS format: PROS: • The frame is much more solid that I anticipated. It assembled quickly and easily and seems very capable of handling my needs. • Likewise, the pulleys themselves are mounted on a solid plate that attaches to the joists via 4 lag bolts each. • If you are mechanically inclined, the assembly seems to be straightforward, even with the lack of written instructions. (see the CONS below) • All parts are labeled in separate bags and even included one extra part in each bag. • It raises and lowers smoothly. CONS: • The directions lack written instructions and rely on drawings to figure out the assembly. For example, it would have been nice to list the size of pilot hole to drill for the lag bolts. • The cardboard template is way too flimsy to hold up in place for one installer. • The lag bolts are of terrible quality! Of the 24 bolts required for the four pulleys, 8 of them broke while trying to tighten them! I highly recommend that you head to your local hardware store and buy new, quality bolts before starting this project. • When using a drill/driver to raise and lower the platform, the end of the rod needs to be longer to tighten into the chuck better because it keeps slipping out. All in all, I think this product will work well for the few times a year I will be lowering and raising it. I give it 4 out of 5 stars.
