I was also disappointed that “normal” sized books do not fit on the shelf. Hi! These shelves are beautiful and elegant, I gave them a 3 star because if you're unlucky like us and have no studs to drill into, DO NOT USE THE PROVIDED DRYWALL SCREWS. They are not secure anchoring options. If you love the shelf's look, you're better off spending 2$ more at any hardware store to get legit drywall anchors (do not use the pop in ones). We ended up sanding our shelves down because the coloring was darker than we thought and we love how they turned out. We're currently in the process of re-securing our shelf since one is drooping.
