Liked this gun safe because it is light (45 pounds) and did not have to be assembled. Mounted it to a wall and it is sturdy. Has a shelf for 5 pistols, one for rifles. Has 2 spots for pistols and bins to store ammo on the door also. Made our own shelves for extra ammo since we don’t have any shotguns and removed that shelf. There is a light inside. This handsome, ready-to-assemble hope chest serves multi purposes in any room of your home. The chest is constructed of wood and wood veneers and also serves as gun concealment with a removable wood tray for handguns or additional accessories. Additional features include attractive hardwood feet, removable butt and barrel rests, and dual safety stays that hold the lid open preventing pinching.

Overall pretty good, but some of the pilot holes must have been misaligned. Even though I followed the instructions word for word, some pieces wouldn't fit together unless I drilled a new hole. It would have held itself together if I didn't, but that was pretty confusing. That aside, it's sturdy and the wood looks absolutely lovely. Anybody who has seen it assumed it was storage for extra blankets. The only thing I might change is the option to move either the sliding shelf or notches to the other side as I have some boom sticks that are a little too tall for the shelf and have to be set down sideways. 4.5 stars, but I rounded up. Great light duty gun safe! Very easy to assemble, but I recommend using a a screw gun instead of the manual screwdriver it comes with. The top shelf can stack at least 4 boxes of handgun ammo, maybe 5 for a .22 cal. My one bugaboo is the holsters on the door; there's no padding on there so it's metal on firearm and the case that houses the locking mechanism obstructs access to the top holster.. Michael.
