Great quality and easy to install

I purchased a weiser smart lock which died on me in within 4 years. It's a nice looking expensive lock but simply is unreliable as it cannot withstand normal residential use. Warranty denied my claim blaming it on an electrical issue. This is a big disappointment to rely on weiser. Hopefully another product will fair better.

This lock does not function reliably. If the bolt does not move smoothly into or out of the frame during locking or unlocking, the lock emits five beeps and becomes unusable from the outside. The door can then only be locked or unlocked from the inside. The only way to restore normal operation is to perform a factory reset, which is inconvenient and defeats the purpose of having a smart lock. When this happened with my first unit, I returned it for a replacement. Unfortunately, the same issue occurred with the replacement lock. As a result, even though this is supposed to be a keypad lock, I still have to carry a key with me as a backup.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I installed the new Weiser Smartcode Matte Black Lock in my mudroom a week ago. Not only is it sleek and sturdy, it comes with a backlit touchpad which makes it really convenient in my dim-lit garage. It's just what I needed. Definitely recommend it!
