Humans' long desire for immortality cements the existence of mythological entities with time control. The peacock is one of these legendary birds associated with time regulation. It is thought to have arisen from Garuda's feathers. Its power to transcend time makes the peacock holy to everybody, but especially vital to kings, who are anxious to maintain dynastic rule over land and people.
