When I opened the box the container that the screws and other parts were in was broken so screws were scattered all over the larger box. Good thing none were missing. We love this pergola! It replaced a motorized retractable canvas awning that needed a new cover. We discovered that replacing just the cover would have cost almost three times as much as purchasing this entire pergola—and this looks so much better! Our deck is on the second level, and the pergola feels sturdy and has held up well through some fairly strong winds. My brother and nephew assembled it and attached it securely to both the deck and the house. Installation took most of the day, so it was definitely a project. Fortunately, my husband and I organized all the pieces and assembled several of the basic parts before they arrived, which helped tremendously. The finished pergola looks fabulous, and we receive so many compliments on it! Our neighbor was so impressed that they took the accompanying photo from their deck. The only drawback we have found is that it does leak during rainstorms, and we haven’t yet figured out how to correct that. Even with that issue, we are extremely pleased with it. Works for what we wanted it for! We needed something to help keep rain from splashing back on our door frame and I think it will work wonderfully. Can’t wait to decorate it for the fall!
