I thoroughly read the reviews before purchasing this. As many have said, it’s good for what it is. My partner and I put it together in less than 2 hours. Assembly was pretty straightforward, although my partner noted that:
1. not all of the dimensions were exact, “not square”—i.e. we couldn’t fit all of the slats into the top shelf area even if we wanted to. Fortunately we were going to skip 1 or 2 slats anyway, as others have done, so that our broom would fit inside.
2. We also noted that the instructions weren’t complete: they don’t have a step included at all for inserting the bottom floor of the shed. Although it just slides in, so was easy enough to figure out.
3. He said the wood felt like pine wood (cheap and fragile.) Hopefully won’t be an issue as it’s mostly just tasked with looking nice and hiding all the garden supplies on our small apartment deck. Plus being so light weight made it easy for the two of us to lift it through the sliding glass door.
4. In particular he did not like that the holes weren’t completely drilled. Besides being annoying, this may have contributed to one of the screws going through the board and poking out the other side (the sharp end is on the outside of the shed and exposed, so we’ll need to use a wire cutter or something to trim it down). Photos included of this.
5. Some of the stain came off on our fingers as we assembled. Wear gloves if this is a concern, but it washed right off. Seems there’s no clear coat seal on it, so that may be necessary to survive the elements of nature (rain and snow namely.)
TL;DR full price may be a little high for a light weight, imperfectly measured item. More worthwhile if purchased on sale. However, it fit the bill for what we wanted (an aesthetic, functional cover up for an eye sore pile of garden supplies) and the issues are tolerable or fixable.. Nicole. Roseville, MN.
