So glad I paid for assembly. Well worth the cost. The tilt lift & horizontal lift was more difficult than I anticipated in spite of the hydraulics - accounting for the thickness & weight of my mattress. My specialized mattress is very thick & is compressed by the headboard when lowered. I have a Sonu which has a void at the head of the mattress tor shoulder/arm relief & the headboard compressed this area making it near impossible to use this feature. The headboard is part of the bed frame & short of severing the headboard & affixing to the wall 3-4 inches higher this situation will continue to cause discomfort. Also, when raising bed tilt to horizontal you need lots of space at foot of bed to pull up & out as the mattress extends beyond the frame (not clearly shown in photos).. Judith. Saint Paul, MN.
