This piece takes quite a while to put together and requires at least 2 adults to do it well. The assembly hardware doesn't fit tighly and easily shows because it is a contrasting color. I do not foresee the bookshelves staying in place with heavy use because the stabilizing pegs are too small for the holes. The swinging feet readily loosen every time you put it up or down. Love that I now have a location for a desk that is not bulky and can easily be turned into a guestroom! It took 2 of us to put it together and was a tad more complicated than I expected but in the end was worth it. It took most of the day....just saying so you can plan ahead. :) We had a purple mattress we weren't using and thought we could use it with this. Um, no.
