Great downdraft vent! Rises high enough to pull most smoke and steam away from all pans, much of it from the front burners, but the back burners are a no-brainer - nothing escapes, especially when the fan is turned to high. Fan control is smoothly variable from almost silent to roaring hurricane strength. Recommend that you use a large diameter vent to the outside to prevent back pressure (we have a 6" adapted down at the fan). The up/down limit switch is easily adjustable, and is covered when adjustment is finalized, so (kids) cannot tweak it for us. Great purchase and we are very happy with it.. James. Orefield, PA.
