After conducting extensive research I selected this Island Range Hood because of it's claims that it has a Maximum 2 Sones sound rating while still having 650 CFM. However, now that it has been installed in our new home I can confirm that this is very misleading and inaccurate. Using a Decibel Meter I measured the sound levels coming from this product now that it is installed in our kitchen. It only generates 2 Sones of noise at the Level 1 Setting. The following are my measurements of noise generate at each fan level: Level 1 = 2 Sones (39 - 40 db) Level 2 = 7 Sones (56 db) Level 3 = 11 Sones (62 db) Level 4 = 14 Sones (66 db) Level 5 = 19 Sones (70 db) Disappointed and would not recommend.
