Bought this gate to seal the top of my stairs, so my grand-daughter doesn't fall down the stairs. Liked the idea that the gate doesn't need to be attached permanently to the walls, so it can be moves around. Unfortunately, the gate can be easily pushed over by the sheer weight of the child leaning against it, no matter how much I tighten the side bolts. In order to keep the side bolts from slipping, the manufacturer provides little cups that must must screwed to the walls; then the side bolts fit into these cups. This defeats the purpose of being able to easily move this gate to another location. Also, the walls will need to be patched up, to get rid of the screw holes that were made when these little cups were installed. My recommendation for the manufacturer is to use side bolts of thicker diameter. In summary, the gate can be easily pushed out of place, unless the little cups that hold the side bolts are are screwed into the stairs' walls, which renders the gate as permanently installed, not easy to move around as needed.

I had to put a dog down, in February. In March, my boxer/Australian shepherd mix, decided to start jumping the baby gate, that keeps her in back room (at night and while we are gone). My couches will never be the same. I couldn't scold her because I never caught her in the act. I needed a solution to keep her in the back room, with our other 2 dogs. After searching, literally, everywhere, I found this gate. I was skeptical. It is TALL, taller than the "tall", other places had. It screws in wall, no more paint coming off when I need to get through. The door is so convenient, could be a little wider, I have to turn sideways to walk through. It is sturdy, well built, looks GREAT with my room colors!

I was expecting to receive a safety gate measuring 41" in height, as advertised. In reality it is only 37" high. The item was processed for a return.

My cat is too afraid to jump over it because of how high it is. We’ve been using it for literally years now and it’s stood the test of time!

Very flimsy, did not attach well to wall, eventually put large holes in both walls. Will not stop a small child or dog from getting upstairs. Our dog busted right through it with no problems. Would probably keep a cat out, but not much else.
