We have twins that we needed new beds for. We loved how this bed had a headboard so they can store their books and knick-knacks. So we ordered 2 beds, One of the beds was perfect! Took a little time to interpret the instructions, but overall easy to build - just a little time consuming. The second bed, lacked quality control. I was very disappointed. The items themselves seemed to be free of defects, but once the drawers were built and installed, there was a slight gap in all 3 drawers, so they don't close all the way. We triple and quadruple checked the rails and the wheels sat correctly and made sure everything was supposed to be as is, but still, they don't sit right. Not sure why this was but I am including pictures for reference. Now we have one saying "why do I get the broken one" and as a parent you feel awful for picking which twin gets the "Broken one". =(. My three kiddos are super excited about their new bunkbed! It took my husband, son, and I three hours to put it together but the pictures in the directions were straight forward. We did have to take two parts apart and reassemble them as I missed the direction they had to be facing in order to attach pieces in later steps. I put a soft bath math with a grippy bottom at the foot of the ladder and tucked it under the mattresses on either side to prevent direct falls onto the lower bedframes. The storage space on the top bunk is great for storing a good amount of toys and stuffed animals; the storage drawers between the beds on the bottom are nice for smaller items. We really like this bed! It seems pretty sturdy. It took us about a 2 hours to put it together. I was really impressed with the fabric provided for the canopy—it has a nice weight to it drapes beautifully. The slats on the bed are supportive enough to hold a mattress without a box spring or board. The bed is made of real wood that has been painted, so there are superficial imperfections here and there. However, we are happy with how the bed looks despite these small flaws. My three year old daughter helped pick out this bed for herself, and she was so excited to see it put together.
