Fits perfectly in our boy’s loft bed and is soft and very comfortable all night. (Our boys are a bit older, but if you have younger kids, I’d recommend the 6” thickness for a loft/bunk just to be a bit safer) There were no fumes when opened, so it wasn’t necessary to air out, though letting it rest a few days after opening allows the shape to return after being compressed for transport. I love that the cover is removable for cleaning if we ever need to. I will be getting a protector, though.
