With inspiration from jewels and gemstones, Lena bergström has renewed the cut crystal with the glass series carat. The sharp and unique asymmetrical grinding reflects our times with a scent of nordic romance. The low sparkly votives reflect the light of candle-like little jewels. These wonderful votives pair very nicely with the rest of the carat pieces in the collection.

Difference Sweet is a dessert wine glass from Orrefors that holds 22 cl. With its short bowl, it immediately captures the aromas of late-harvest grapes in sweet wines. A suitable wine for this glass is the classic Sauternes, which is made from nobly rotted grapes; the juice is often fermented in a small oak barrel, bringing additional character to the wine. This glass is suitable for all nobly sweet wines, such as Eiswein and Tokaj. It also works well with younger port wines. Difference Sweet/wine is mouth-blown in Sweden by expert glassblowers. Maybe it's the handblown creation of the crystal glasses in general, but the two sent by you are slightly shorter, lighter weight and the blue teardrop less prominent than the others I already owned. The purchase was to replace a glass I had broken. But, I could not pair either of the two glasses you sent with those in my glass cabinet. They did not look as substantial. The Nick and Nora Glass is inspired by the stylish fictional detective and his wealthy wife - Nick and Nora Charles, written by American writer Dashiell Hammett. Famous bartender Dale DeGroff, the King of Cocktails, was searching for a small cocktail glass and found this elegant style displayed in the movie "Thin Man". It is a universal truth that opposites attract and create harmony. Hot and cold, hard and soft, black and white. You can´t have one without the other. When designer Lisa Hilland was asked to create a vase for Orrefors that was just as beautiful with or without flowers, she chose to contrast the exclusive crystal with metal. BLOOM is inspired by the organic shapes in nature, such as flowers and leaves. It is as perfect holding an exquisite bouquet as it is with a simple branch of ivy but is also stunning in its own glory when the clear Orrefors crystal catches the light just right.

When the designer was asked to design a vase, something that would be equally beautiful without flowers, she chose to use metal to contrast with the softness of the crystal. This is inspired by the organic shapes of nature, by flowers and leaves. The new arrival to the collection this year is a tall vase for cut flowers, a vase that can also be used for dried flowers or a simple branch from the garden. Like the short vase, this vase is equally beautiful with a lush bouquet or a simple ivy clipping. The vases are also lovely standing on their own, with only the light dancing in the crystal glass.

The billowy shape of Squeeze from Orrefors looks different from different angles, depending on its placement. After the vase is blown, and while still hot, it is "squeezed" together by hand in two places. These "squeezes" form a cross inside the vase, which holds the flowers in place, making the vase well-suited for a variety of bouquets. Designed by Lena Bergstrom.
