If you want to make delicious, healthy casseroles for a group, a large roasting pan is essential: this is where the oval Staub cocotte comes in. Measuring 37 cm wide, 18 cm high and 42.8 cm long including handles, the pan has a capacity of 8 L and is ideal for presenting food at the table due to its clean design and classic black colour. The inside of the casserole dish features a black enamel coating, predominantly made of glass. Glass is particularly good at retaining heat and also distributes it evenly and slowly throughout the food. Usable on all heat sources, including induction hobs and ovens, the cocotte is a practical piece of cookware that can be used to prepare a wide variety of different recipes. The self-basting system, which consists of a specially designed under-lid drop structure, helps keep meat dishes succulent and tender, whilst the handles on either side of the pan help you to move it safely from oven to table. The cocotte's exceptional heat-retaining properties are also an advantage when preparing cold dishes or desserts: simply place the cocotte in the fridge until the time has come to serve the food. Enjoy fresh tasting food that is always just the right temperature with this La Cocotte casserole dish.

Great cocotte for large family meals. Excellent heat retention. The basting spikes really do work and keep the dish moist. I use it mainly for making large batches of biryani that will feed up to 20 people. I absolutely love it.. D.w.. Vancouver. Sun Mar 10 2024

The cast iron tajine from STAUB delivers traditional, North African braised dishes to your kitchen: Whether you're preparing tasty meat dishes or vegetarian delicacies with a wide variety of vegetables this cookware allows both hobby and professional chefs to conjure up aromatic, healthy meals. Originally developed by the Berber tribes of Morocco, the tajine still plays an important role in the preparation of North African specialities. Naturally, it can also be used to spoil guests interested in cuisine with recipes from all over the world. The special shape of the conical ceramic lid ensures a particularly strong aroma. Because it is also airtight, fragrances and flavours are kept inside. The all-rounder made of cast iron can not only be used on all types of cookers, but also in the oven or on the barbeque. This allows food seared on the barbeque to continue braising in the oven, where it unfolds its flavours.

The STAUB "La Coquette", a vintage-design cast iron cocotte, perfect for cooking and presenting individual servings or sharing side dishes for two at the table.

Like all Staub Cocottes, the high Cocotte is made of enamelled cast iron, combining the advantages of cast-iron cookware with the benefits of high-quality enamel glaze: They are extremely durable and offer very even heat distribution. The special structure of the lid makes sure all moisture is dropped back on the food for the best results. The high Cocotte is 3cm higher than the classic Cocotte, resulting in an added volume of 1 litre. This means you can cook larger quantities on a small burner, making sure all the surface of your Cocotte has contact with the hob for optimum energy efficiency. The slim form makes it easier to store in an average-size kitchen cupboard. With its added height, this Cocotte is especially well suited for deep-frying or searing food, protecting the cook and the kitchen from splattering hot oil. 24cm Diameter, holds 4.8 litres. To make full use of the advantages of this Cocotte, try it for this kind of usage: - Recipes that require additional space, such as meat with bones like a roast crown of lamb, or stuffed bell pepper. - Prepare first your sauce, add your pasta al dente and serve warm for a long time - Frying avoiding splattering oil all around on your cooking desk

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Love the look of the Staub, much prefer it to le creuset personally. You can tell it’s made well and will last forever. I also like how tightly the lid seals.. Toady. Mon Dec 12 2022

The French oven features the same excellent cooking characteristics as the Cocotte. The enamelled cast iron distributes heat evenly for best results and retains the temperature for a long time, so that the food stays hot throughout the meal. The Chistera drop structure creates an Aroma Rain effect: evaporating moisture is dropped back on the food, making meat tender and enhancing the flavour of the ingredients. What makes this French oven a very special addition to any well-appointed kitchen and the perfect gift for foodies is the option of drawing on the lid. Choose from several beautiful motifs, such as the lily, on vibrant colours. The exquisite design makes the French oven really stand out and adds an interesting touch to the table when it is used for serving. With its conical form and the rounded edges, the French oven is ideal for all dishes that are frequently stirred, allowing the cooking spoon to reach every corner. Try it with recipes such as vegetable pilaf with saffron and chicken breast or a creamy risotto. The French oven is suitable for all types of hobs and can also be used inside the oven, for example to bake bread in a perfect rounded shape.

Love this Staub Pot !!! The food cooks evenly. You can hear its sizzling when it's hot. It's heavy but great. To top it all off , it looks amazing when served on a table. Tip: Use sturdy plastic serving spoons.. Joseph. Chatham, ON. Tue Feb 28 2023

The braiser is truly beautiful with an ombré gray blue throughout the exterior. It’s also quite heavy and seems well made. My only issue was that it arrived with some of the cover material chipped off. I would recommend that Wayfair invest in better packaging (more paper and bubble wrap) to cushion delicate items that can break or chip.. Monique. Brooklyn, NY. Sun Sep 27 2026

The French oven is a timeless standby for stews, roasts, soups, casseroles, and other one-pot classics. Staub has perfected this tradition in our signature ''la cocotte'' (co-cot) French oven, the choice of some of the world's best chefs. The traditional round design has self-basting spikes for continuous, natural basting. When your meal is ready, la cocotte moves beautifully from the stove to your table.

Round pots fight long cuts. The Alva Nori 6-Quart Enameled Cast Iron Oval Dutch Oven is shaped for the things that do not fit — a whole chicken, a rack of ribs, a long roast, a brisket — so they sit flat in the liquid instead of propped up against the sides. Six quarts feeds a family with leftovers. Heavy cast iron holds a slow, even heat that breaks down tough cuts over hours without scorching, and the triple-layer enamel is chip-resistant, needs no seasoning and releases cleanly. It goes from the stovetop to the oven to the table without changing dishes. Compatible with every cooktop including induction and oven safe to 500°F. No synthetic nonstick coating, and made without intentionally added PFAS, PTFE, PFOA, lead or cadmium. Backed by a limited lifetime warranty, built in the Belgian tradition since 1949.

Great size and the enameling is well done. I roasted a chicken with vegetables for a first use with great results. I do wish the lid was domed or raised a bit though. My only complaint is the lid could fit a bit better. The lid should flush fit, but doesn't. Other than the lid, it is well made.. Stefanie. USA. Fri Jan 17 2025

The Henckels oval cast iron casserole is a beautiful addition to any set. Cook stews, soups, or even full chicken dinners or use it to serve iced foods like shrimp and oysters.
