Maeve Harris (born September 1, 1976, in Princeton, NJ) is an American abstract painter whose work investigates colour and light. She is influenced by natural and organic forms, but her paintings reveal a focus on the medium itself. Mixing her own pigments, Maeve uses multiple layers of colour and metallic to suggest the passage of time and change of perspective. She uses a variety of inks and pigments to mix colour and light into her work. Her approach to traditional subjects such as landscapes, figurative, or animals are met with the experimentation of form, material, and technique. As an innately creative individual, most of Harris' youth was spent exploring a broad spectrum of influences with a focus in art history and literature. Her process and work ethic are inspired by artists who tap into their intrinsic self and who work ceaselessly on their craft.
