The myth of ”wandering” air bubbles has always been present at the glassworks of Kosta, Sweden. Bertil Vallien has given this some consideration when he made the transparent sculpture My Palace Home, with its enchanting ability to capture the play of light. Only the viewer who has spent considerable time observing their own glass knows whether this ancient myth aligns with reality. My Palace Home is part of Bertil Vallien’s anniversary collection, “Bertil Vallien: 60 years with Kosta Boda” (1963–2023), and is crafted at the Kosta Glassworks in Sweden.
