I just received my Lawren Harris "Maligne Lake" Group of Seven Art Print, delivered by FEDEX ground delivery services. Maligne Lake was part of my back yard as a child and into adulthood as I grew up in Jasper National Park and Maligne Lake is situated at the south end of the Maligne Valley. The lake has been painted and photographed by many artists and photographers, from many different places across the world since people first started coming to Jasper National Park. Both the famous and the humble have visited this lake and have been amazed by it's beauty and I know that I too have marveled at it's beauty and wonder every time that I visited the area and there has always been something new to discover along the way. I have been blessed to live in the Park and have been very fortunate in that though a majority of visitors have only been as far as the famous Spirit Island, that is about 9 miles down the lake, I have been able to venture to the very end of the lake when researchers and back country hikers were going into the back country. The end of the lake is a further 9 miles past Spirit Island and the trip from Spirit Island to the end of the lake reminds me of images of the Fjords of Norway. It is rugged country but, as I indicated, beautiful and I never grew tired of such scenery. This Group of Seven print is beautiful as well and it reminds me of those very images of the lake that very few get to gaze upon and I shall enjoy reflecting on the print as the years go by.
