" The Meeting, 1772 " by Jean-Honore Fragonard

This second of four panels in The Progress of Love paintings commissioned by the last mistress of Louis XV, Madame du Barry, depicts a young woman alarmed by her pursuing lover, yet caught in love's grip. Fragonard's Rococo style work with its high style and over emphasized mannerisms, epitomized the style of an era. The authentic stretched canvas replica painting captures the original work's texture, depth of colour, and even its subtle brushstrokes, which are applied by hand. With bas-relief organic styling, the multi-tiered, replica European style 3.25" wide frame is cast in quality designer resin and highlighted with an aged gold-toned finish. Proudly printed and framed in the USA using imported moulding.
