Definitely has needed improvement but we figured it out in spite of not very clear instructions. And kind of lacking better explanation of what the 1 to 4 cups logo does. Appears to do nothing lol. We are happy with it

Great looking coffee maker, brews quickly and flavor is good. Only issue is that coffee seems to get cold quicker than previous makers we have used. Less than 3 months and the control panel/lights have stopped working. We have contact the manufacturer and are awaiting their resolution.
