The coffee maker was packaged well and looked good, except the charcoal filter was not included. When informed, Wayfair referred me to Hamilton Beach (incorrect email given, phone number correct). A call to HB lasted 40 minutes while they checked to see if that model included the filter (it did, according to Wayfair webpage). A huge hassle and I have yet to have a coffee maker with a charcoal filter.

Makes great coffee and simple to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Easy Measure 14 cup coffee maker is easy to use & makes 14 cups of delicious coffee for large groups or multiple cups for "coffee junkies"! It keeps you from having to keep close tabs on the coffee during parties. The only issue we found was the design requires access to the back of the machine to refill the water reservoir. The machine is so tall it would have to be pulled out from under cabinets to refill or use it on an island with access to the back. It's nice that there is a light in the filter area so you can see how much coffee you're adding (as well as a graduated scale). The permanent gold filter was defective on the first machine we received, hence the lateness of this review.

It's easy to fill and equally easy to clean. You can brew now or later and even sneak a cup mid brew. The reusable filter provided has markings that make it easy to make sure that you're using just enough coffee. A+!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First off I read all the directions and the setting of the clock is not written correctly. I found if I held the time button down the numbers just flew by. I used my knowledge of setting other digital clocks instead. It took me a few tries to get the coffee to taste right, but that is not unusual with a coffeemaker. The amounts on the carafe and the reservoir do not exactly correspond either so you will have to figure out which you want to go by. With a measuring cup and figuring 5oz. per cup, I found the carafe to be more accurate. The coffeemaker does have some nice features like the lighted mesh filter area for putting coffee in. However, you can use paper filters if you prefer. The LED lighting on the unit is easy to read and tells you exactly what is going on. I might prefer an actual on and off light though too. The brew strength is a nice feature, but note that it cannot be used with small amounts of coffee (1-4 cups). It has an indicator to tell you when the maker needs cleaned which should be handy. This is a coffeemaker for someone that entertains a lot or drinks a lot of coffee. The manufacturer has streamlined it, but with the reservoir and large carafe it is quite large. It would work best in a corner. The unit seems to be very sturdy and constructed well. The carafe might be too heavy for some to carry especially with a full batch of coffee in it. It makes a fine cup of hot coffee and should be a durable coffeemaker and suitable for someone that makes a lot of coffee.
