Disappointed that the lids are not microwaveable

I like the mugs. They hold a 16oz serving. They work great in the microwave for heating up soup. My only complaint is that the lids do not fit snuggly. They would not prevent spills. I wanted them to transport soup from a soup kitchen to people's homes. I had to purchase different lids.
