My true rating is 3.5 stars
The way the packaging arrived I was fully anticipating the product to be in pieces or at the very least chipped but it miraculously arrived completely intact. However, I’m taking off a star because there were a few scratches to the glass due to the poor packaging. They went with the type of styrofoam that breaks up into little clingy bits and it got blasted to smithereens in transit. The styrofoam got between the rotating mechanism, which is difficult to clean out. It’s making weird noises as it spins like there’s still bits of styrofoam or maybe dirt inside. Should’ve gone with a heavier duty cardboard and the type of foam that doesn’t break up. They shipped it in regular cardboard box when the thing weighs 68lbs…
Another reviewer mentioned the lazy Susan topples when you put a single heavy item on one side. I tested it out and was able to get it to hold 20lbs before it starts to topple which I feel is actually reasonable. 20lbs is like a turkey or a whole watermelon. A solution could be to use a heavy center piece 10-15lbs, the heavier the better (e.g. mini sculpture, cover a 15lb weight lifting plate with decorative fabric to look like the base of a vase). You could also *maybe* try mounting tape on the 4 support pegs. To me, it’s not a big deal. The issue should really only arise when setting the table based on the order you place items down. I’m also not one to frequently serve such heavy dishes. Still, taking off half a star for not designing the peace of mind that would’ve come with a larger support base to handle more weight.
I haven’t had it long enough to see the “loose screw” issue other reviewers have mentioned, assuming the seller hasn’t already fixed it in subsequent sales. If I’m able to update my review later on I will.. Jessica. Jacksonville, FL. Wed Feb 05 2025
