Berkeley Bed

We are pleased with this bed. It seems to be well made. The finish is not at the finest level of high end-furniture, but it seems to be on a par with our expectations. The finish quality did not extend to the routed channel where the vertical rails of the headboard meet the base; in this area the finish is rough, as if caused by overspray. But this is behind the pillows and you would not normally see it. The listing on Wayfair, at least when we ordered it, really need a lot more pictures and close up shots. We had to ask, for example, whether the verticals in the headboard have a square cross-section or round ( they are square). I would have preferred that the antique cherry finish be a bit lighter than the walnut verticals to enhance the contrast, but, as I said, we are sufficiently please. The delivery / set up crew did a fantastic job. Careful, quick, and courteous. They deserved 5 stars. The bed gets 4.

Beautiful, well-built bed. Solid wood; even the slats to support the mattress are oak and high quality plywood.
